Hessian, reclaimed textiles, 2026
Made from discarded domestic textiles using a traditional weaving technique, this work draws on knowledge and history passed down from my Jamaican grandmother.
A chain of weaving connected to the floor rug, this work reflects on what we learn from our elders, memory and the passage of time. Considering the stories that are held within household fabrics, it weaves together fragments of personal and collective histories.
