Artist Statement

Dominique Bailey-Boahene is a British multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, textiles and participatory practice, with people, stories and material at the centre of her work. Her current practice uses discarded textiles and traditional rag-rug techniques to explore cultural inheritance and memory.

Through workshops and collaborative projects, Bailey-Boahene brings people together to share their skills and lived experience. Drawing on her Ghanaian and Jamaican heritage, her work considers how traditions are preserved, adapted and carried forward within communities.

Dominique Bailey-Boahene is currently based in London. Having obtained a bachelor's degree in Fine Art from Kingston University, London and Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore.
