Hessian, reclaimed textiles: clothing, cotton scraps, bedsheets, duvet covers, curtains 300 × 200 cm, 2026
Made from discarded domestic textiles using a traditional weaving technique, this work draws on knowledge and history passed down by my Jamaican grandmother.
This work reflects on what we learn from our elders, memory and the passage of time, considering the stories that are held within household fabrics. By reworking these textiles, I continue their journey, weaving together fragments of personal and collective histories.
